จากเดิมที่สตีฟ จ็อบส์เคยให้สัมภาษณ์ว่า Flash ตัวเต็มช้าเกินไปสำหรับ iPhone และ Flash Lite นั้นความสามารถไม่มากพอ (ข่าวเก่า Flash Lite ลง Windows Mobile) หลังจากนั้นทาง Adobe ประกาศว่าได้เริ่มต้นพัฒนา Flash ด้วย iPhone SDK (ข่าวเก่า) ตอนนี้ความคืบหน้าล่าสุดที่ออกมาคือ Adobe บอกว่า Flash Player ทำงานได้บนอีมูเลเตอร์ iPhone แล้ว และกำลังเข้าสู่ขั้นตอนการทดสอบบนฮาร์ดแวร์จริง

เรื่องเทคนิคดูไม่มีปัญหา แต่วิธีการแจกจ่ายต่างหากที่น่าสนใจ ทาง Adobe สามารถเปิดให้ดาวน์โหลด Flash ผ่านทาง App Store ได้อยู่แล้ว แต่นักวิเคราะห์ส่วนใหญ่เห็นตรงกันว่า ถ้าจะมองถึงขั้นให้แอปเปิลรวม Flash มากับตัว Safari ของ iPhone ในเฟิร์มแวร์เลยดูน่าจะยาก เพราะยุทธศาสตร์ในระยะยาวของแอปเปิลดูจะสนับสนุนเว็บแอพพลิเคชันที่สร้างด้วย HTML/JavaScript มากกว่า ตัวอย่างที่ชัดเจนคือ Mobile Me นั่นเอง

ในระยะยาวผมว่าคงไปดูกันว่า AIR ของ Adobe จะเป็นปรากฏการณ์เช่นเดียวกับ flash ได้หรือเปล่า ถึงตอนนั้นคงค่อยมางอนง้อกันอีกที (ตามประสาคู่รัก) เพราะผมเองก็ยังเชื่อว่า AIR น่าจะเป็นแถวสอง (รอซ้ำ) ของแฟลชได้อยู่พอสมควรครับ
