The state owned telecom company CAT Telecom has announced to sue National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) in order to stop the forthcoming 3G licenses auction. According to the announcement, the lawsuit will be filed to the Administrative Court on Monday.
This is not a surprise move from CAT, prior to this action, CAT has sent an inquiry to the cabinet to ask if it should file the lawsuit. While the answer from the cabinet is still unclear, CAT insisted to go on. At the NTC's on going event, "3.9G Thailand Human D.N.A.", CAT has been backed off even its exhibition has been 80 percent completed.
CAT is holding two licenses for 3G services already, one for CDMA networks and other for 850MHz HSDPA network. But due to patchy coverage, its market share is considerably low.
