The position, Senior/Software Engineer, is mainly responsible for development and maintenance of Internet Suite (IS) products. IS allows market data to be accessed via HTTP over the internet or intranet. It sources the data from Enterprise Platform for Real-time Infrastructure (formerly RMDS), news Providers, and timeseries providers and makes quote, news, historical data available to subscribers. For the next generation product, IS also provides the Rich Internet Application technology for its client API and widgets.

Responsibilities

1. Analyze development requirements, design and develop software for new development projects
2. Investigate and implement fix or enhancement for care & maintenance products
3. Translate technical requirements into application code and modules.
4. Unit test and ensure application meets needs of client and business requirements.
5. Take part in review of own works and work of colleagues.
6. Do documentation (basic design, specification, new feature descriptions)
7. Complete the objectives of each assignment (typically project tasks).
8. Comply with Thomson Reuters' standard process in software development

Qualifications

• 0-5 years experience in C/C++ programming on Unix/Linux platforms.
• Good knowledge of multithreaded programming and network TCP/UDP/IP programming.
• Demonstrates ability to identify and solve complex problems at component or feature level.
• Experience and background in using advanced debugging/profiling tools and techniques will be a significant advantage.
• Experience in Trading and Transaction will be a big plus.
• Knowledge of Unix/Linux shell script and utilities.
• Background Knowledge of Internet & Web technologies including Application server/Webservice/AJAX/RIA.
