Job description:

A data scientist possesses a combination of analytic, machine learning, data mining and statistical skills as well as experience with algorithms and coding. The most important skill a data scientist possesses, however, is the ability to explain the significance of data in a way that can be easily understood by others.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Work in a team to define and execute data science solutions that address various business use cases and requirements
• Define activities, scope, and be able to foresee estimate timelines on data science projects
• Deliver projects following best practice frameworks
• Discover, interpret and document insights from large datasets through exploratory analysis and advanced analytical methodologies
• Create statistical and machine learning models in multiple technologies using best-in-class data science approaches
• Prepare and conduct presentations, communicating result to all stakeholders in both technical and non-technical oriented
• Mentor and train junior members of the team during projects
• Work closely with technology team on integrating data science product into customer facing products.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD degree in a related discipline (Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or Operations Research)
• 4 years of related work and/or research experience in quantitative roles
• Have been involved or leading in at least 1 full cycle of data science project
• In-depth knowledge in at least 2 of the following data science domains
• Text Mining / NLP
• Graph mining and Network Analysis
• Geospatial Analysis
• Deep Learning: Image, Video Processing and analysis
• Predictive Modeling and Recommender Systems
• Time series analysis
• Financial modeling
• Extensive knowledge of statistical programming language (R or Python)
• Fluency in SQL and workable knowledge of relational databases
• Experience with NoSQL data environments and tools such as Hadoop and/or Spark is a plus

Candidate Profile:
• Be a clear and confident communicator with excellent presentation skills and with the ability to translate technology concepts into concise business focused messages in both technical and sales presentations
• Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Be proficient in the use of both written and spoken business English;
• Proven skills in creative-problem-solving of complex and advanced technical subject matter
• Possess a solid understanding of the value of data and how technology enables companies to compete better in the market place
• Fully understand common challenges in data science project and know how to tackle different problem with best approaches
• Have the ability to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to solve problems
• Be self-starter with a positive attitude, intellectual curiosity, creativity and a passion for analytics and solving real world problems
• Keen on agile project management approach and start-up working style
