Codegent is now looking for a Technical Project Manager/Technical Analyst to work on dedicated project ‘Teachers TV’.

Teachers TV is an innovative, multi platform service that delivers content and interactivity to an expanding audience in educational community. With an award winning website that boasts over 350,000 registered users and over 500,000 video views per month it’s a big player in the online video space alongside the 24/7 television channel.

Teachers TV has experienced a significant rise in the number of website-related projects since the launch of the redesigned website in June 2009, and now needs a technical project manager/technical architect to work closely with the Head of Technology to provide project management and technical scoping and to act as the primary interface between Teachers TV in the UK and the Teachers TV development team based in Bangkok, Thailand.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Technology and working closely with the UK-based Project Manager, you’ll be bringing your experience to the distributed digital services team where you will assist in managing the development team in Bangkok, as well as ensuring they have the necessary project and technical scoping support to implement website developments and functional changes as requested by Teachers TV.

In addition, you will be responsible for assisting in scoping and creating detailed project plans to manage the delivery of requested projects. You’ll need to be able to explain your ideas and approach, take on new requirements and adapt documents accordingly. Technology offers no fears for you and you’ll be able to see how content and functional ideas can exploited using existing systems or features. Experience

• At least three years experience of working as a technical project manager
• Experience with the technical architecture and scoping process involved in developing web-based technical projects
• Familiarity with LAMP-style infrastructures
• Familiarity with the PHP scripting language
• Familiarity with distributed processing and we-services based software architecture
• Experience in working with remote development teams and the toolsets that support this way or working
• Broad understanding of support of cross platform services
• Experience in working with online and interactive communities
• Experience with Accessibility guidelines and keeping sites compliant to the W3C “AA” standard
• Experience with streaming video servers and services

Skills (required)

• Fluency in technical Thai
• Fluency in technical English
• Experience is project management, technical architecture and technical scoping processes
• Experience working in an Agile environment and the Agile process, including creation of Requirements and User Stories from technical scoping documents
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non technical staff
• First-rate professional documentation
• Ability to work closely with all everyone involved in the production process from editorial staff through to developers and designers
• Able to manage multiple projects/tasks at once
• Understanding and awareness of usability and accessibility
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Exceptional attention to detail that finds and solves all the elements that are normally forgotten.
