Gabriel Aul จากไมโครซอฟท์เผยว่า บริษัทอาจปล่อย Windows 10 for phones รุ่นทดสอบ 10080 ให้นักทดสอบภายนอก หากผ่านการทดสอบเป็นการภายในซึ่งเริ่มขึ้นเมื่อสองวันก่อน

Gabriel ตอบคำถามทางทวิตเตอร์ว่า ต้องใช้เวลาเก็บข้อมูลการทดสอบหลายวันกว่าจะตัดสินใจได้ ซึ่งสื่อว่าหากรุ่นทดสอบนี้ผ่าน มือถือที่เข้าร่วมโครงการ Windows Insider ซึ่งรวมถึง Lumia ICON อาจได้รับรุ่นทดสอบรุ่นใหม่ในสัปดาห์นี้
